A fine selection of 8 wines was presented for our ANZAC Day Cellars, as follows:

 This wine’s rose-gold hue complements the well lifted opulent pear, lychee and white peach aromas and flavours.

Corvezzo organic Pinot Grigio – Delle Venezie DOC

Colour – Straw yellow with golden edges

 

Nose – Tropical and floral

 

Palate – Pineapple and peach with floral hints. Intense and fresh and well balanced

 

Pairing – chantrelle, mixed vegetable rissotto, classic pairing of seafood through to spicy asian food.

Colour: Attractive cherry red color. Fine and persistent bubbles.

Nose: Good intensity with clean aromas of ripe fruit.

Palate: Fresh, fruity, pleasant, with good structure and medium intensity.

Brilla Prosecco Spumante DOC Rose

Spumante

 

Veneto, Italy

Delicate and complex bouquet with fruity notes that remind of peach, green apple and lemon. Floral notes of acacia and rose.

 

Fresh and light on the palate, with balanced acidity and body; Round and full-bodied structure.

Campo Viejo RESERVA

 

Tempranillo, Gracino, Mazeulo

 
Rioja, Spain

This wine has aromas of fruit (cherries, black plums, ripe blackberries) and oak (clove, pepper, vanilla and coconut).

 

Very attractive on the palate, with ripe fruit and spices, tabacco and toasted oak. Elegant and soft tannins, middle weight, long and complex finish.

Chateau Paul Mas, Clos des Mures 2020

 

85% Syrah, 10% Grenache Noir, 5% Mourvèdre

 
Languedoc Region, France

Color : deep ruby, with amethyst reflections.


Nose : Complex, with aromas of blackcurrant, violet and blackberries evolving towards notes of cocoa and sweet spices.


Palate : a generous, well-balanced, fruity wine. Aromas of cocoa, dried berries; a silky, dense, fleshy wine with well-marked fruit aromas, acidulous notes of fruit pies, apples, cedar, and a mineral finish nuanced by crunchy tannins.

Penfolds MAX 2020

A fine acidity carries the wine. The palate has a lovely tension/shape, with flavours of mulberries, summer pudding and mascarpone abounding. There is a creamy texture, steadied by prominent but polished tannins.
