June 2025 Wines

Wines from Cape Town Region of South Africa

Wine 1

La Motte, 2022

Sauvignon Blanc

Franschhoek, South Africa

With its natural acidity and acute texture, the La Motte Sauvignon Blanc pairs beautifully with seafood, light pastas and spicy Chinese and Thai dishes.

This white wine also goes extremely well with acute seasonings, and salty eats such as pre-dinner canapés. A natural partner to goat’s cheese. On its own, a refreshing aperitif white wine.

Boekenhoutskloof, 2023

The Chocolate Block Blend

74% Syrah, 10% Grenache, 8% Cinsault,
7% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Viognier.

Franschhoek, South Africa.

The nose is rich and intense with its abundance of black- and blueberry fruit, ripe brambles, and notes of black olives, perfume and dust. Whiffs of white pepper and coriander seed add to the complexity.

The bright dark berries of the nose follow through onto a juicy, abundant palate with classic red liquorice and fresh cherry flavours.

Lively acidity and svelte, velvety tannins are balanced and add to the elegance, focus and energy of the wine.

Hints of cherry tobacco and exotic spice linger on a pure, dry finish.
